Dell Precission 3551 problems
I have Dell Precission 3551 several years now. Actually all the time I have some problems with it.
First of all, from the beginning the laptop was extremely overheating, even when not doing anything.
It was so hot and loud it. This loud sound disturbed me at work! After some time and some service requests problem has gone away (from time to time it's still hot and loud but it's definitely better).
After that I had some problem with HDMI port. After service request they changed the whole motherboard!
Then
Since some time my laptop has blue screen from time to time, freeze etc.
Now my USB-C port is damaged. Only power supply works, HDMI, internet etc does not work when connected to my other DELL monitors.
I contacted service and they said that they can't fix this on warranty and I need to pay for that and they need to replace the whole motherboard!!!! Of course additional cost for me.
During that time I have replace battery at my own cost, extended warranty. The laptop was very expensive at that time so I spent a lot of money on it and now what?
I really like Dell, I bought two great Dell monitors but this laptop drives me crazy.......
Now should I pay another money for replacing the whole motherboard?
It's like you buy a car and can't replace a wheel and need to replace the whole chassis in order to replace a wheel.
Isn't it crazy?

Crazy, no - just about everything inside a notebook, regardless of brand is integrated on the system board, with the exception of RAM and storage on most systems. Some even integrate those (Macs have for years, as do some PCs).
This is a 2020 model system, so it's unlikely the warranty remains in effect.

@ejn63 The warranty absolutely remains in effect because I have pay additional money for extending it. I have it till December 2025.
Even if it's integrated it's not a problem to just replace (by soldering) one USB-C port which costs nothing.
So, yes it's creazy a lot!
