Dell Precision M4700 32GB RAM Problem
Hello, I have a problem with my RAM. I have a Dell Precision M4700 laptop, which has an Intel Core i7 3940XM quad-core processor, a motherboard 082H3V A00, BIOS A19, a 320GB HDD, an Nvidia Quadro K1000M, Windows 10 Pro, and 2 Kingston RAM modules of 8GB DDR3L (1.35V) with a frequency of 1600 MHz (12800) each, for a total of 16GB.
The problem is that I want to upgrade my laptop's RAM to 32GB, which is the maximum supported by this device. So, I bought 2 new RAM modules that are exactly the same as the ones I already had, from the same brand, capacity, model, and frequency. However, when I install these new modules in the empty slots, the laptop simply doesn't boot up. It doesn't show the Dell logo. It's worth mentioning that both the RAM modules and the slots are fine, as I tested each memory and each slot separately, and they work. Also, when I install 2 out of the 4 memory modules in slots A and C or B and D, they work. But if I install a third or fourth module, it simply doesn't work, which is illogical since my processor is quad-core, and theoretically, it should work without any issues. Any solutions? Thank you, I hope someone could help me. Regards.

I am updating this post after several months in case someone else is going through the same issue. It turns out that the problem I had was that the processor was too tightly secured to the motherboard, somehow preventing it from making contact with the dual-channel modules. I followed a Reddit post where they encountered the same issue with a different laptop brand, and what they did was loosen the processor a bit (or vice versa, according to other users), and the problem was resolved.
Now, I am enjoying 32GB in dual channel, and I hope this information can be helpful to someone in the future who might be experiencing a similar issue. Regards!
