Dell Precision M3800 from 16GB to 32GB Ram

Hello, I have 3 Dell Precision M3800, I would like to upgrade them from 16GB RAM to 32GB RAM

I bought some crucial 2x16GB but the machines do not boot

Any idea how to solve this?

Can Dell update the Bios to allow it

I have the Bios version: A14

Thanks

Wil

See here:

Your system supports a max of 16 G.

The m3800 only supports 16gb of memory.  It did not boot because you installed unsupported memory configurations.  See the memory specifications for Precision m3800 below.

Hi

thanks for all the replies. .

Is it a bios issue or a hardware constraints?

Is there a way for DELL to update the bios to extend to 2x16GB?

That would be awesome

Best

It's more likely hardware than firmware, but you won't see a firmware update on a system that's as old as this one (10+ years), so it doesn't matter either way.
