Dell Precision 7560 Upgrade from Nvidia A3000 to Nvidia A5000 Questions
Hi,
I just upgraded my Dell Precision 7560 I9-11950H from the Nvidia A3000 6GB to the Nvidia A5000 16GB. Though its working fine, I ran into a few fitment issues and wanted to inquire if I need to purchase additional components? The Nvidia A5000 was a factory GPU for this laptop.
On the Nvidia A5000, the 2 of the 3 mounting screws mount the same, the third "left side" screw is slightly further "south", due to build difference. As such I cannot mount it to the Chassis with all three screws. Also there seems to be kernel under the black plastic on the GPU that is coming into contact with the motherboard, not allowing the furthest "North" screw to seat. Lastly, though the connections are the same, the DGFF Power Cable appears to be different as the "block" in the center of the cable is too close to the connector, the mounting point for the power cable slightly further "North" thus creating pressure on the keyboard and lifting it a bit.
Requesting input on the variances for what may need changed? Obviously I believe the power cable is different, but I am unsure what would need sourced for the mounts.

Yes, dont currently have the part numbers in front of me. However, I ended up getting the wrong A5000. Dell in their infinite wisdom had one made for the 7560 and one for the 7760. I incidentally bought one for the 7760. The difference is the placement of a post which is not necessary and the dgff cable. The original post in the 7560 machine needs removed. Otherwise it creates pressure and lifts the keyboard a bit. And the other cable is slightly longer.
