Dell Precision 7550 – FHD Touch Panel (BOE08EB) Black Screen After Intel Graphics Driver Enabled

I have a Dell Precision 7550 laptop with the following specifications:

    • Processor: Intel Core i7 (10th Gen)

    • Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics + NVIDIA Quadro T2000

    • "margin: 0;">BIOS Version: Latest (A17)

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 64-bit

Problem Summary:
When the Intel UHD Graphics driver is installed or enabled, the laptop’s internal display goes completely black after the Dell logo appears.

  • The laptop continues to boot normally (Windows loads and external display shows everything fine).

  • If I disable the Intel graphics driver in Device Manager, the laptop screen works normally (with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), but brightness control, touch, and scaling do not work.

  • When I connect an external monitor, the laptop display also starts working properly with the Intel driver enabled.

  • After disconnecting the external display, the internal screen continues to work fine until I shut down the laptop for several hours or days. On the next cold boot, the black screen returns again.

Troubleshooting Already Done:

  1. Updated BIOS to A17 (latest).

  2. Installed Dell-recommended Intel Graphics Driver (version 31.0.101.2135, A17_02).

  3. Verified that the issue happens only with the Intel driver enabled.

  4. Extracted and analyzed EDID data from the panel (BOE08EB, EDID v1.4, FHD Touch).

  5. Confirmed that external display works perfectly with Intel driver.

My Questions for Dell Support:

  1. Is this a known issue with Dell Precision 7550 systems using the BOE08EB (FHD Touch) panel?

  2. Does Dell recommend replacing the eDP cable (possible intermittent connection) or the entire FHD touch panel to fix this?

  3. Are there any firmware or driver updates available for this specific panel or its EDID timing that address this black-screen behavior?

  4. Could you please confirm the official Dell part numbers for the FHD Touch panel and its eDP cable, so I can ensure my repair shop installs the correct parts?

Thank you for your time and support. I’d appreciate your guidance on how to permanently fix this issue.
