Dell Precision 7530 Laptop w/ Intel UHD and NVidia P2000 Video Controllers - Multiple Monitor Setup Issues
(I am an IT professional with over 35 years of experience and normally can figure out my laptop issues either myself or the help with Google. Although I will accept all answers, I really would appreciate answers only from those who are true experts with Video Controller / Monitor setup issues as this at least 3rd or 4th level issue.)
My Products:
Precision 7530 w/ Intel UHD and NVidia P2000 Controllers - All updated to latest drivers in Dell Command Update
Dell Performance Dock - WD19DC
Dell U2719DC (2560x1440 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock USB C port
Dell U3223QE (3840x2160 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock DisplayPort 1
Dell U3223QE (3840x2160 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock DisplayPort 2
Was running Windows 10 with this setup and was able to run the monitors at the stated settings. An OS crash in early October gave me an opportunity to update to Windows 11 and I was able to get the monitors connected the at the same settings above. Approximately mid December I rebooted the system and 2 of the 3 monitors would not go back to their native settings (System>Display would not even list the native setting) above unless I disconnected the U2719DC from the port. I left it this way until I had time to look at it again a couple of days ago.
One thing I noticed was that all the monitors were using the Intel UHD controller rather than the NVidia. If I remember the Win 10 configuration correctly the U3223QE's were using the NVidia Controller and the U2719DC was using the Intel UHD Controller however I dont remember how I got it that way. I tried the BIOS change to promote the NVidia card as the primary however that completely disabled the Intel UHD and it was not available in the NVidia Control Panel. Also changing the Video option in BIOS did not get me back to all the native resolutions I once had. I spent about 16 hours the last 2 days trying to fix and have not been able to find out what is going on.
Poking around Google gave me the same AI answers I've already tried and YouTube videos that did not help.
What I would like is to get back to the following:
Dell U2719DC (2560x1440 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock USB C port
Dell U3223QE (3840x2160 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock DisplayPort 1
Dell U3223QE (3840x2160 DP v1.4) - Connected to Dock DisplayPort 2
with the proper display resolutions.
Additional information U2719DC monitor now connected via HDMI port on dock and will not list any resolution higher than
Can I split the monitors between controllers like I thought they were once before?
Can I tell Windows to make Monitor ports (DP/HDMI/USB C) certain ports point to certain controllers?
Is there a way to find out if a change to recent driver updates has pushed my setup over a limit control for the controllers?
Is anyone out there a real expert at this, can tell me what is broken, and help me fix this? Or at least direct me to some information that can tell me what is going on.
