Dell Precision 5860 take long time to boot
Dell Precision 5860 Tower takes almost 4mins to boot when done a reset. It has 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM and still takes more time that the previous versions, eg Dell5820. The Dell symbol comes up only after a min of restart, is this normal ?

That is normal after a system reset. It would cycling through POST 3 times to detect and making adjustments to any hardware change.

@Chino de Oro Thanks for your response. Is it common that the dell5860 does the POST 3 times everytime a hardware is installed or removed ? Are there any settings for increasing the boot time ? Coz sometimes I feel it is taking at least 30 mins to poweron and come to normal screen from the time of switching it on.

The normal boot time is within 2 minutes. Taking longer with hardware changes due to firmware adjustments. System would not cycling through POST 3 times with any hardware changes, only to certain components such as RAM, storage controller, PCIe add-in cards.

You can run ePSA to test your system hardware. I never have 2 hours boot time and do not know the reason.
