Dell Precision 5570 - discrete graphics controller direct output mode

Hi, I have a Precision 5570. I'm struggling with proper setup of NVidia card with external monitor through a docking station. The thing I'm missing is an option that on a previous DELL BIOS called "discrete graphics controller direct output mode". Is there any possibility to activate it on 5570?

Are you running a Thunderbolt dock (which should allow direct video) or a USB-C dock (which won't)?

we can provide you with some general guidance on setting up an external monitor with an NVIDIA graphics card through a docking station.

  1. Connect the Docking Station:

    • Make sure the docking station is properly connected to your laptop.
    • Connect your external monitor to the docking station.
  2. Check NVIDIA Control Panel:

    • Right-click on your desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel."
    • Navigate to "Set up multiple displays" under the "Display" category.
  3. Configure External Monitor:

    • Ensure that the external monitor is recognized by the NVIDIA Control Panel.
    • Select the external monitor and configure its settings, such as resolution and refresh rate.
  4. Check Windows Display Settings:

    • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
    • Verify that both displays are detected, and you can arrange them according to your preference.
  5. BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • While you mentioned a specific BIOS setting, it's important to note that not all laptops have the same BIOS options.
    • Check the BIOS/UEFI settings for any options related to graphics or display configuration. If you find an option that seems relevant, adjust it accordingly.
  6. Update Drivers:

    • Ensure that your NVIDIA graphics drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the official NVIDIA website.
  7. Dell Support:

    • Visit the Dell support website for your specific model (Precision 5570) and check for any BIOS updates or support documentation related to graphics configuration.
  8. Contact Dell Support:

    • If you are unable to find a solution, consider reaching out to Dell technical support for assistance. They may provide specific guidance based on your laptop model and its BIOS version.

I too am looking for a solution. I dont see this option and the reason im looking for it is because when my 5570 is booting, I dont get any output on my external monitor until Windows loads to the login screen and this is frustrating because I cant get into the BIOS unless I open the laptop lid. Is there a solution to this? The dock im using with my 5570 is WD22TB4. I already ran Dell Command Update and updated all the drivers, firmware/BIOS. Enabled, what I think are, all the relevant TB/dock features in the BIOS, but I still cant get this to work.
