Dell Precision 5550 charging issue

Precision 5550

Precision 5550

Precision 5550 won't charge and show "PC isn't charging. Use the reommended charger and cable". Dell replaced my logic board 2 times under warranty and the issue still exisit. I can't charge my Precision 5550 unless the battery is depleted or I press the power button long enough to force reboot the laptop. It is not the issue with the charger since i have tried different brand charger on all 3 usb-c port. It usually happens when waking up the laptop from sleep or hibernate. I can't keep sending my laptop back to dell every month for repairing the logic board. It is just so annoying. My warranty plan will be expired next year 2025 May. I am not confident with this dell workstation anymore.

Hey... Dell is it a design flaw? Any one can help me escalate the issue and help me solve the issue?

Hello. I also have a 5550 Dell laptop which has now stopped charging. Last week I had to press the off / on button for 30 seconds to reset something and then it charged again. Now it won't charge at all. Went into bios and I found a warning of low AC voltage. This is the same original Dell charger I'm using.

What to do now ?

I am also experiencing the same situation, most of my Dell Precision 5550 or XPS 15 9500 laptops have this error. I replaced the battery, hard drive, RAM, etc. but none of them solve this problem
Has anyone fixed this error or not, it is the same as the general error of this code

@allservices2003 I gave it up. I just forcely restart the laptop 2-3 times every morning. I am not going to buy Dell again.

@allservices2003 I have no error message but still need to force a restart every 1-3 days. Laptop also shuts down occasionally in mid work.

No help from Dell so far.

Someone on the web blamed Windows defender. I turned it off ( the live option, don't recall the proper term) but it automatically turns itself back on.

Still no solution

What happens now is that the laptop shuts down by itself. I restart. Battery wont charge. I force restart holding off button for 30 seconds. Then it charges again and works fine. Occasionally, when forcing a restart a blue screen shows up and I select for windows NOT to shut down if it encounters a problem. This clearly still makes no difference.

This might mean it's not a Windows related problem but a Dell or battery problem.

You changed your battery. Did you also change the charger cable ?

Thanks
