Dell Precision 15 5000 (5510) Xeon model stays on black screen after sleep and battery drain.

After managing to get this to work using a USB-c type charger everything was fine with it for a while.  Until one day I let the system go to sleep and went to work.  When I returned home I noticed that the battery had died.  Upon booting I get both the screen and keyboard backlights showing up but just a black screen.  It seems as though it is trying to wake from sleep but cannot.  Neither the bios screen, nor the Dell logo, are displayed.  I do get a white charging light on the front bottom lid of the laptop without any flashing or colors that would indicate an issue.

Things I have attempted:

1. Power cycle without disconnecting the battery.

2. Power cycle after removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds.

3. Removing the battery and letting it sit unpowered for approximately 40 minutes then holding the power button, reconnecting the battery and attempting to boot.

4. Letting it charge for an extended period of time, between 2-3 hours, before attempting to power on.

5. Inserting a different ssd with a fresh install to see if it was something to do with the software on that disk.

6. Inserting a USB drive with an install img written to it then powering on.

7. Resetting the ram modules.

8. Checking the cable from the motherboard that runs to the monitor for a loose connection.

9. Searching for any similar issues online.  (This lead me to the attempted solutions of completely draining the battery and resetting the ram modules.)

None of the above seem to get my any closer to a solution.  Is anyone aware of any other options to test?  I'm not sure if maybe the battery dying while in sleep mode may have caused some type of a setting error.  Nor do I see a cmos battery on the board to remove.  Any help would be very much appreciated.  I seem to have bad luck when it comes to Dell laptops.  When they work they are great powerhouses.  When they don't they seem to be much tougher to deal with than the brands that I am accustomed to.
