Dell Précision 3571 - Samsung NVME Driver installation issue

Hello everyone,

We just bought some Precision 3571 Laptops with this configuration :

12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900H

Windows 11 Pro (up to date)

32 GB, 1 x 32 GB, DDR5, 4800 Hz

We have decided to replace the original SSD drives with Samsung 980 pro 1TB NMVE SSDs.

All seems to works fine, except that it's impossible to install Samsung NVME Drivers to replace originals Intel NVME Driver.

Error message is : Peripheral NVME is not connected.

Windows 11 was installed with any problem.

Samsung Magician Software was installed and it is able to read correct information from Samsung NVME disk.

BIOS is up to date (Version 1.9)

AHCI Mode is selected for operation disk management

BitLocker was desactivated

There is two identical SSD in the laptop and system was install on SSD1

I don't understand what's happen.

Does somebody can help me ?

The solution was just provided to me by Samsung support.

There are simply no Samsung NVME drivers compliant with 980 Pro model. the support stops with the 970 Pro.

This driver supports Samsung NVMe™ SSD 970 PRO, 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus, 960 PRO, 960 EVO and 950 PRO.

It's just a shame ...

Thanks a lot @JOcean , it's little bit strange to see incompatibility between these two major brand.

Hope that helps out. And I have seen even stranger compatibility issues.

This page at minitool may help. On that page they have indicated that a number of users on forums have not been able to install the driver on the 980 Pro. They have some suggestions which may help. Also this video at YouTube may help.

@JOcean Unfortunately not really, a lot more theory than concrete answers
