Dell Power Manager installation error 25028 cannot be identified as a supported system
I received an email from Dell to update Dell Power Manager
I checked the compatibility with my service tag
the system shows compatibility, but when installing, I get the next error
"Dell power manager service the target system cannot be identified as supported system Error 25028"
Can you please explain how to fix it?
kind regards

What kind of email did you receive from Dell? Dell wouldn't just email you to update your system - they don't know.
Where did you get the download for the update? From a link in the email or directly from the dell site?
What system do you have and what version of Dell Power Manager was installed?

If you create an account with Dell and register your service tag, Dell sends you notifications for updates from no-reply@notifications.dell.com.
"New driver updates are available for Precision 7670.
Before downloading updates, check your system compatibility."
The compatibility is checked in https://www.dell.com/support/
My system is Windows 10 and Dell Power Manager version is V 3.16.0.
When opening Dell Power Manager it asks you to Update, but I get the same error followed by another dialog
"Error 1720. There is a problem with this windows installer package. a script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. CheckStoreAppService script error -2147217392

@p.jaramillo Try uninstalling your current version of Power Manager, reboot and download the latest version (Dec 2, 2024) from the Dell site https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/precision-16-7670-laptop/drivers
That should hopefully resolve the issue.

@p.jaramillo In addition, here is an article with an overview of why it is important to update Power Manager https://cybersecuritynews.com/dell-power-manager-code-execution-vulnerability/amp/

@p.jaramillo If you're still under warranty, then open a ticket with Dell and ask them for a resolution.
