Dell 7710 getting error while upgrading GPU NVidia Tesla M6

Hello everyone

Can someone help me in the issue I'm facing.

I upgraded gpu Tesla M6 in my Dell 7710 and install the driver of Nvidia GTX 980 through modding. On the First attempt After the disabling driver signature gtx 980m driver installed successfully and graphics card working fine then I runs the heaven benchmark application for test the GPU performance, Around 1 minute it's works fine but after that laptop went hang I waited around 1 minute after that I forcefully power off and start it again.

After the startup logo display turns black

I off & on multiple times but after the startup logo display remain turns black the I open the windows in safe mode it's opened normally and I disable Tesla M6 from device manger and restart laptop

And windows start as usual I enable the Tesla M6 driver from device manager and again laptop went hang.

I forcefully restart the laptop and windows starts as usual but in the device manger Tesla M6 was found disabled.

I thought maybe problem in the drive so I uninstalled device and reinstall the driver I already moded as gtx 980m but while the installing driver My dell 7710 went hang again

I remove Tesla M6 and reinstall previous amd firePro GPU which is working fine as before

I also check the Tesla M6 it's still works fine in my MSI GT60

Can someone please guide me does the  Tesla M6 is not compatible with dell 7710 or my laptop MXM slot went faulty.

And how can I use Tesla M6 in dell 7710

Obviously, Tesla M6 is not validated and not compatible with your Precision 7710.  By reinstall previous AMD FirePro GPU which is working fine as before, your MXM slot is not faulty.

Hi All,

Just wanted to add here for anyone who might be looking for this info, the Nvidia Tesla M6 works flawlessly in a dell Precision 7710. It does not matter if its EDP or LVDS and is only dependent on the BIOS whitelist which dell has done a good job in keeping clean. Make sure to set secure boot off and boot in uefi mode. Get modded drivers and you're good to go. I'm currently writing on my second 7710 with second Tesla M6. :)

Have Fun.

@UnkownBrawler Hey friend, I'm having a similar problem trying to get the tesla M6 and for that matter a gtx980m working in an alienware M17x R4 - I get no post but just 8 beeps with both cards.

Put the old gtx 660m in and all is back to normal. Any ideas?
