BIOS lock up
Hi,
I have a Lenovo P1 laptop and it has a supervisor BIOS password, which I do not know.
Also, I have only three attempts at it, if I enter the wrong password three times, the laptop gets bricked.
Also, it seems Lenovo does not have a backdoor/admin password in order to un-brick it.
Is that the case for Dell Precision 5570 series?
If I buy one, new or second hand, off ebay, and I do not have the BIOS password, can and will Dell help?

Hi
DELL may help the registered owner, so if you buy off ebay that may not be you.
So your search and any purchase should be on the basis of returning it for a refund if it is not unlocked, free of passwords and you can take-over ownership.
Even request the service tag and check it out on the Dell support site.
As always CAVEAT EMPTOR (Let the Buyer Beware).
