Audio Crackling on Dell Precision 5560 When Multitasking

Hi Dell Community,

I'm experiencing audio crackling on my Dell Precision 5560 when playing music or videos in the background and using another program at the same time (browsing Internet, for instance). The sound is fine when not doing anything else but listening, but as soon as I multitask, the crackling starts - there is like a 2 second crackling. This happens with both the internal speakers and external headphones.

What I've Tried so far:
- Updated and reinstalled drivers.
- Set the system to **High Performance mode** to prevent throttling.
- Tried to adjust the **audio quality settings**.
- Ran a **HARDWARE TEST**, but no failures were present.
- Updated the **BIOS and chipset drivers**, but the issue persists.

It's been happening ever since I got this machine.

Has anyone else experienced this on the Precision 5560 or similar models? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

PS I've had a dell precision 5540 workstation previously and such issues never happened.

Try disabling all Waves audio services (if there`s any) in the task manager and check to see if the problem is gone

I own a dell precision 5680, a machine that I think this error should not happen, it's a joke on a new dell machine. In addition, it has some other errors such as:
- The machine freezes when opening explorer (what the hell is going on)
- Sometimes, the mouse freezes, can't be controlled

The error continues even when you update new drivers, new bios, even if you try to do everything. It's really a joke to users
