alert! memory error occurred

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are doing great. I would like to raise an issue that occurred this morning on my Dell Precision 7670. When I hit the power button (ON) laptop it showed me the below screenshot error as Alert! memory error occurred. I have since tried to find the root cause of the issue but haven't been able to find it. Searched through all the logs system plus the internal logs from Event viewer but with no success. It would be great if anyone has an answer for this and can help will be much appreciated.

Best would be to run a full system diagnostic, which will test the RAM -- press F12 a few times at powerup and boot to the diagnostics.

Do any memory errors arise there?

At the moment, I am experiencing the same thing. When I proceed to diagnostic, the test stops running once the "Memory" phase starts - that is, it just hangs and freezes. The computer sometimes manages to run Windows, but it crashes after a couple of minutes with a blue screen suggesting a memory issue. I am on a Dell 5340 2-in-1...

Any other suggestions?

If you have two modules, try one module at a time in each socket.  If one module fails in both sockets, it's bad and will need to be replaced.  If both modules fail in one socket but not the other, it's the socket that's bad and the mainboard will need to be replaced.

Had a similar "Alert Memory error" on a XPS9510.  Was able to book into the F12 diagnostics and ran all the included tests.  The system passed all the tests and there were no codes generated that would pinpoint the problem.  The PC would still not boot up into Windows and would simply go to a dark screen.  I finally opened-up the computer and started testing the two Dimms (remove 1 at a time) and discovered that 1 of the 8Gig Dimms was faulty.  This is easily done by trying to boot the PC with only 1 Dimm until you find the bad one.  Replaced the bad Dimm and all is well.

@danarj I also have the same error as my friend, using a 7680 model, which happened 3 days ago. I tested the entire machine and didn't find any errors. Does your machine still have the Memory error occurred problem?

My issue seems to be that the computer starts to run when I hit the ON switch (I can see the keyboard light up), but the small light on the side of the computer that usually suggests PC battery is low, or that it is charging when plugged in, flashes white three times and orange two times. The screen doesn't turn on at all. I force shut down and start the PC up again, after which the error occures. None of my files seem to be corrupt, everything works properly after that, it only takes me a few times of force rebooting to get it to start. The f12 checkup also spits out no malfunctions. I am running on a DELL Vostro 3520 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U   1.30 GHz.
