After 22H2 update - No boot device

Precision 7550

Precision 7550

I have a Dell Precision 7550, running Windows 11.

Windows has been suggesting I install the latest update 22h2.  About a week ago I let it do it's thing thinking I'd come back to the computer and see what new features they added.  Not so...  Instead I found Dell support assist running tests.  When it finished, the only error was no boot device found.  After trying options suggested by Support Assist, including bios factory defaults, I turned to booting from a USB recovery disk thinking I could roll back the update and be back up and running.  Not!  Startup repair returns "Startup Repair couldn't repair your PC"  Suggested Advanced Options, which takes me back to the same menu I was just at.  Tried "Uninstall Updates"  It reports "You have pending update actions and we won't be able to uninstall the latest quality update of Windows.  Try running Startup Repair instead."   OK, already did that...  Next I tried "System Restore."  It reports "No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive." I guess Microsoft doesn't believe in creating restore points when it's a feature release... (who needs a virus when Microsoft is involved)  so that is not an option...  I have dropped to a command prompt and copied my data off the drive.

Anyone have ideas of how to recover without doing a complete reinstall?  It literally takes weeks to get everything reinstalled and set up.

After chatting with a tech, found that SATA bios setting had been changed from AHCI to Raid.  Also found Windows boot manager was no longer selected.  After these two changes, All is working.
