Adding RAM to 7780

Trying to add another 32GB of RAM, have 2 x16 Non-ECC.

How many slots do I have on 7780? Somebody said only 2 and I need to get 2 x 32GB, pricey.

Or there are 4 slots and I can get 2 x 16GB

Thanks

You will need the interposer to install the RAM as soDIMMs - and you will need 2X32 to go to 64G.

The other option is a 64G CAMM module - which will be much more expensive (upward if not over $1,000).

Either way, the existing RAM needs to be removed to upgrade.

Yes, I will order 7780 with 64GB installed.

Thank you for your support.

There are two different memory technologies used -- either there's an interposer board that takes up to two standard soDIMM modules, or there's a connector for Dell CAMM memory.

@ejn63 Thanks. I found one for 7770, will it fit 7780, any idea?

I talk to Dell tech support, they did not mention anything about those boards.

Yes, the memory interposer is the same.

What type of RAM is in the system now (soDIMM or CAMM)?
