5690 with A1000 Autodesk disaster
I've been working with Dell for two months trying everything to keep the NVIDIA GTX A1000 from crashing while running Autodesk Inventor. We've tried at least eight different drivers, I've reinstalled Windows, NVIDIA analyzed two crash dumps, I've logged multiple cases with Autodesk, Dell even replaced the GPU!
From what I can tell, the GTX A1000 just will not work with Inventor. There are rumors to this effect on the Internet. Autodesk certifies it as does Dell. FYI, my much older 5570 with an A2000 doesn't crash.
My problem here, Dell sold me a $5000 workstation that crashes running simple 3d CAD models that they say it should handle.
Last week one support tech basically gave up and recommended I speak with the now non-existent customer care department. In trying to figure that out a different tech took some responsibility. I'll ping him after the holiday and see where we are.
I can turn off the GPU and things will be fine. I can also then buy that class of PC at Best Buy.
Does anyone have a recommendation on where to go from here?
