5590, TB16 and a VGA monitor.

A colleague of mine has a work issued 5590 (with a whopping 8GB of RAM). At home, she has a TB16 and a VGA monitor that works nicely with more modern computers.

Going directly to the monitor - using the VGA port on the 5590, works nicely. This, of course, bypasses the dock and all of the attached peripherals (keyboard/mouse dongle, Hard Drive, headset), but using the USB-C port does nothing.

In theory, I could swap out the TB16 with either a WD15 or 19 dock if that would work.

Any thoughts, or should I just get her to get a newer computer from her employer - she has already requested more RAM.
