Unable to recognize WD 4TB Black hard disk as 2nd drive

Installed 4TB drive as 2nd drive.  Disk Management does not recognize the drive, though it is recognized int he BIOS and Device Manager. Any ideas on what the problem may be.

For a better guessing of the issue, at least providing the machine information, the operating system used, the BIOS settings for SATA operation mode, and the location (storage controller) the drive was added.

Some older PC's/workstation/servers either can't take 4TB drives or 4TB total.  It's not said what you have in it already.  I'm going by user reports.

I take it you don't have a RAID setup.  If you have another PC, try formatting the HDD in it.  GPT & NTFS

Do you want a RAID setup, or are looking to have one  boot drive and one for storage?
