T7910: Fine one day…..dead the next

I have started to experience a strange behaviour with my T7910. Every now and then it refuses to post. Sometimes the power button flashes yellow, turns to white after a hard restart, but it still refuses to post. It may be OK in the evening, and dead the following morning, without any hardware changes to it.

It has the latest BIOS (A34), passes all the in-built pre-boot F5 diagnostic tests, and the PSU BIST seems OK. The only way to revive it is to unplug and then to re-plug internal components such as RAM sticks, or the internal PCIE hard drive, or the GPU for example. At the moment it’s fine, but who knows for how long. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Hello,

just to rule out one factor, try to change the cmos battery... if it's a goner, can lead to a lot of weird things

Well, that’s one thing I have not tried, but will the next time it dies. Thanks for the suggestion. I will report back.
