T7610 BIOS POST ISSUE
I have a Precision 7610 BIOS version a018. When you turn the system on you get no video whatsoever in any way no bios no post no nothing.
You see hard drive activity and you see the 1234 lights jumping back around about 60 to 90 seconds after the system boots Windows loads and you get video and you get the Windows desktop.
I've tried three different types of video cards I've tried different connectors I've tried DisplayPort I've tried DVI I've tried VGA.
Nothing makes a difference to the boot up of the machine
I've attempted to reflash the BIOS with the a018 downloaded fresh from the web it pops up and tells me what it's going to do what the current version is what the update version is it gives me an okay box I click the okay and then you get a progress bar saying something to the fact that it's preparing the biocept date window shuts down the screen goes dark you get no more screen it does not complete the BIOS update at least you can't see it completing the BIOS update and in the machine restarts and about 90 seconds later you get Windows desktop.
I cannot boot up off of USB sticks F2 does not work F12 does not work I've tried multiple monitors multiple cables multiple ports three different video cards.
I've tried the power button sequence where you remove the battery and unplug it and hold the power button in I've pulled the battery out and left the system unplugged for over a day no power supply no battery no electrical plug.
I'm running out of things to try does anyone else have any ideas on any kind of sequence I've tried the jumper on the system board that has no effect.
Is there any other sequence that I can do to try to reset the CMOS so the BIOS is there any software I can run on Windows that will allow me to make changes to the vios settings or possibly do a factory default on the BIOS settings through windows?
I've also stripped it down to one processor one stick of RAM and the computer boots One processor two sticks of ram the computer boots dual processors with 128 gigs of RAM system boots single processor 64 gigs of RAM system boots not one time do I ever get a bios or a post or any kind of display until after Windows has started
This is the strangest computer problem I've had in the last 30 years.
Thank you to anyone that has any kind of procedure or information that will help with this issue
