t3600 upgrade paths for cpus

Adventures in upgrading my Dell Precision T3600!!!

I was making music ok on the 2650 8c 16t but it was only 2ghz

I had to bascially simplify my tracks and I could'nt get too heavy on the synth patches

A fan of my music gave me 2 cpus from it...

a 2690 8c 16t 2.90ghz base clock 3.8ghz boost clock
a 2690 v2 10c 20t 3ghz bse clock 3.6ghz boost clock

I took out the 2650 and put in the v2 and sadly it didn't even post
so I tried the 2690 v1 and it worked!

I'm running the A17 bios. Someone told me there was a microcode upgrade to support the v2 but sadly that wasn't the case :(

but I still got a substantial upgrade and I can now have more complex synth patches!!

so the max bestest cpu for the t3600 is the 2690!!!

I really hope this helps others that have the t3600
