Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
Hello,
Can I install a Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD using a Glotrends M.2 NVMe to PCIe X4 Adapter (which supports PCIe 5.0/4.0/3.0 SSD) in a PCIe 4.0 slot in my Dell Alienware Aurora R11 motherboard with i9 processor and have it work without breaking the motherboard or anything else? The motherboard has a open PCIe 4.0 slot but the specs of the R11 only include one NVMe SSD drive support and does not support NVMe SSDs above 1 TB. I already have one that came with the computer and I am not removing that one because it has the operating system on it. So that is my question is possible to add the unsupported second 2TB NVMe SSD without breaking the motherboard? My second question is why wouldn't a motherboard with extra PCIe 4.0 not support a second NVMe SSD which is 2TB? Seems like the specs of the motherboard are unnecessarily low for what the computer "R11" is built for... My third question is if all this is not possible then can the R11's motherboard be upgraded (changed) to accept a second NVMe SSD which is 2TB (Samsung above)?
Thanks, otherwise enjoying the R11
