Precision T7810 - Nvidia RTX - SLI mode
Good morning everyone. I just wanted to point out that I managed to SLI connect two Quadro RTX4000 cards without using the external bridge connector. A Quadro M4000 is also installed in the same machine which I use for other activities not related to 3D graphics
I note this because I have often come across similar topics on this forum where many asked for solutions for SLI and had various doubts
Machine:
Dell Precision T7810 - 64 Gb Ram - Windows 11 - 2 Samsung SSD

I updated the configuration by replacing the Quadro M4000 with a new GeForce RTX 4060 for rendering calculation

Cool.
This sli has to be supported by the application itself?
Or it just works 2x faster regardless of the app using the sli gpu?
Do the video cards need to have some sli ability? I assume not every nvidia gpu hs this feature?

the cards are independent and those in sli work more efficiently. I use them for CAD and Rendering and therefore it is not much noticeable compared to the use for gaming. No bridges were used. the motherboard automatically recognizes similar cards and recommends the Sli connection that can be activated from the nvidia options windows (but be careful: only if one of the two cards is the main one to which the monitor is connected: one of the two RTX4000 has a monitor connected in another way, the SLI mode is not recognized)
