Precision 8520 vs Windows update KB5058379
Having major headaches as Microsoft insists on installing this update but it is never able to complete and then takes about an hour to remove the update. Then is is just a rinse and repeat. Windows 10 22h1.
is it just me or is anyone else having issues? Has anyone found a way to get it installed. Google searches say that it is an issue for some Dells.

Hello,
that update has issues. once you rollback try to suspend updates until the start of the next month, and wait for askwoody.com to issue a green light to restart the updates.
Normally the ones that install first the monthly patches act as guinea pigs, and is a safer practice to freeze windows update around the 6th of each month, for 30 days, and wait for askwoody to say when is safe to restart ( defcon levels )

there is a workaround from microsoft, but maybe is geared towards who manages to install it and gets the bitlocker issue. You instead said you don't even manage to complete the installation

@mazzinia_ Thanks, i do not have bitlocker active. But under the windows update I get a message saying I am missing some important security updates and the pause is greyed out. I have hidden the update but the message stays on Windows Updates. I also tried the replacement update that MS released only on the Microsoft catalog site, but have the same issue even though they claim that fixed the issue with the "TXT" and bitlocker.
My next step was going to be to hit the Ask Woody community if anyone had a suggestion but waiting a month may be the only choice.

@mazzinia_not sure i know which logs, when i run the update diagnosis, it seems to have no record of attempting the update, I assumed because they did not complete

@bacrow7e685b I was thinking at the ones recorded under Control Panel > Administrative tools > event viewer
