Precision 7820. After upgrading TPM to 2.0, I can't enable it.
Trying to upgrade Win 10 Pro 64 to 11. Cleared TPM, ran the upgrade utility from 1.2 to 2.0. That worked. TPM utility shows V 2.0.
But when I try to enable TPM in the bios, it still shows unavailable in the TPM utility, and Win 11 says it's still an issue.
What am I doing wrong?
Since the machine is 7 years old, Dell will not provide even paid support.
Thanks'

Is the system running in UEFI mode and with a GPT (not Legacy/CSM/MBR) partitioned drive? Both of those are required for Windows 11 support.

And you've upgraded to the latest BIOS? And Secure Boot is enabled? If that isn't working, maybe have to degrade back to 1.2. That should be fine for a 7 year old device.

@ejn63 Yes and yes. Windows Health Check says those are OK. It's the TPM that's the problem.

@Baxtron Bios is updated. TPM2.0 is necessary for Windows 11. 1.2 is insufficient.

@christine02134 In this type of situation, TPM 1.2 can be used with Windows 11. Encryption may not work, but it gets you to Windows 11 in the meantime. A clean install of Windows 11 will work with TPM 1.2. I am not pushing 1.2, I am just offering another option if the TPM upgrade is not responding.

Interesting result.
Even though TPM was not available, I was able to get Windows 11 installed.
Upon doing all of the Msoft updates, and then rebooting, TPM became available. Apparently, 2.0 would not show up as available under Windows 10.
