Precision 3630 won't boot - led light blinks 2,2
I've found that the blinking led pattern indicates a system board or PSU failure. Anyone have an idea of how to determine which one? I want to avoid buying an new PSU and then find out it's the board. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just found that there's a power supply self test button/led on the back (BIST). Pressed the button, no light, no fan, no sign of life, so it appears to be a bad PSU.

Replace the size 2032 battery if it's 5+ years old. Bad batteries cause erroneous problems.
As long as it appears the PSU needs replacing, disconnect internal peripherals one by one, plugging in PC and try test button on PSU after each one. That rules out any other internal peripheral causing the problem.

@bradthetechnut thank you for reminding about the CR2032 battery. Although I own a 3630 too (using it at this very moment, I love that machine, I just hate the noisy fan and the i7-9700 well known issue ), I once had the same problem with my 3060 SFF . I bought an extra PSU (same size and more powerfull, thanks to the seller), and replaced the coin cell. Well, believe it or not but.. the problem was just the coin cell. Worth giving a try !

My mother has my previous Optiplex 7010 for her games. Recently, the power button blinked amber, which can mean bad PSU. I told my dad to change the battery first. Sure enough, it then blinked the code for RAM failure, which turned out to be a bad stick of Kingston. It's now running as good as it did before.
Amazon and others also sell PSU testers.
