Precision 3420; Win11; Sound Settings
How do I turn off the internal speaker so that sound goes through the rear output jack only? Is disconnecting the speaker the only option?
No where can I find it in Sound Settings. Google was no help. Also tried disabling and reenabling speaker items in Device Manager.
No Events found!

You can try to unplug the light green audio cable from the rear audio port and reconnecting it again. That should trigger a popup dialogue, select external speaker and the speaker size, then confirm. The audio should be output to external speaker only.
If that does not work (due to incorrect audio driver setup), just disable the internal speaker in BIOS settings.
If this is your new PC, congrats.

Thanks, it is my new refurb PC. I also talked about it in the Rockstar forum.
I tried that trick you mentioned and I got no response. I'll check BIOS.
Sound coming out of it to my stereo while playing YT videos is absolutely tinny. Sounded naturally good from my 3620.

BIOS is definitely the place to turn off internal speaker. Sound coming out of the audio jack now sounds good.

I got a message saying that "Your version of Windows [11] has reached the end of service." Yet, clicking on 'Check for updates' gives the sliding waiting bar and that's it.

Glad to hear that the sound issue is resolved.
About the Windows 11 reached the end of service, but there is no upgrade option available because when being installed on unsupported hardware, Windows update for the same version will work but Windows upgrade to a higher version won't.
There are some bypass methods that will allow you to upgrade your system to Windows 11 24H2. Search for flyby11 as one of them. Anytime obtaining a system from third party source, you should wipe it clean for security purpose and performing a fresh installation of the latest Windows 11 24H2.

Verify your current Win 11 version. For unsupported hardware, you can install older versions of Windows 11 on almost any systems with Intel Core 2 and AMD equivalent. But, the latest Win 11 24H2 requires stricter CPU and some older systems won't work with bypass anymore.

By any chance have you tried flyby11? I'm wondering can it work on a current install or only on a fresh load?
Since I can't update to 24H2, does Windows Defender still update or should I use my own security software?
I also use Dell Support Assist. It updated BIOS and drivers. It works well for me unlike some others that had trouble with it.
Back in 2019, when I migrated a Win7 HDD from Optiplex 755 to 790, SA straightened everything out.

It will work well with Win 11 24H2.
