PCIe Card incretion clarifications
Hi Dell,
We looked at the Precision 3460 Small Form Factor Workstation SFF PCs on the HP website.
We selected these SFF PCs based on our PCIe card insertion requirements, meaning we plan to insert two PCIe cards: one PCIe x16 and one PCIe x4 card (Video grabber card and Graphics Card) and the selected PC also has two PCIe slots.
We have few doubts and those are followed:
- Can we insert the cards as planned?
- How many free slots will be available when the system is delivered?
- What are the default ports that come with the PC?
I am looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks,
Ramkumar R

System documentation below. The size of the chassis will severely limit your choices of graphics cards, as will the limited cooling in such a small case.
If you're looking for support of full size graphics cards, choose a larger form factor system.

See above. If you have not purchased the system yet, you are best advised to consider a larger footprint system, which will be much less limited in PCIe card support.

It's not that the small chassis has fewer slots -- it's that you cannot use a full size video card, and there are far fewer half cards than full size -- and for higher performance PCIe cards, you need a full height slot. Larger chassis also allow for high capacity power supplies.

@ejn63
We need further clarity on this to extract some conclusion from our discussion.
Kindly clarify for below requirements:
We have:
(1) Aver Media Video Capture Card with PCIe 3.0 x4 (supports both full and half height brackets)
(Find Product link above).
(2) NVIDIA Graphics Card with PCIe 3.0 x16. (Find Product link above) (supports both full and half height brackets).
(3) Dell Precision SFF 3460 PC having one half-height PCIe x4 and one half-height PCIe x16 slots.
Whether we will be able to use (1) and (2) in (3) or not?
Whether it will be effective?
If we can't use what will be the reason for that?
Kindly Give clarity for the above Queries.
Thanks,
Karthikeyan.
