“Old” topic revisited 5820 tower vs 5820 XL tower

Chino said the XL has extra long transition 

(see first paragraph of XL tower spec sheet)

otherwise the two models are identical 

I did not realize Dell is still actively selling the 5820 in this day and age 

Dell tech is really making a fuss of oem vs “non-oem” tower

Is there a premium charge for XL?

I noticed that Dell sales site mentions FMX chassis for XL

and some 5820 motherboard mentions FMX too

a sly hand Dell is dealing under the table to deploy certain version of motherboard for XL?

one thing we learned is Dell holds back a lot of tech details such as different motherboard versions support different CPU’s and hiding or omitting those from sales page just like your car salesperson holding a nice looking sales sheet but not letting you know the fine details
