mouse accessory

Has anyone encountered the mouse disappearing but still working.  The courser disappears but you can still see the highlight the mouse makes when you pass over an application on the desktop.

I have several desktop of this kind and it is becoming an issue on several.  Is there a common fix.  I have tried everything under the sun, ran a diagnostic and the mouse failed and suppose to get a replacement part for the issue.

Has anyone else seen this?
