I Have a Dell Precision T1600 Memory

I'm trying to upgrade the memory of this Dell desktop.

It currently only have 2GB, but as soon as I add another 2GB, it just don't bootup.

I bought a 2 X Patriot 8GB DDR3 UDIMM PC3 - 12800 1600Mhz

Does not even start up with one of the memory chips.

Run diagnostics, and all systems and memory test fine

Any help will be appreciated

Also, if you have Win10 on it, 8GB total RAM is more optimal than 4GB.

@ejn63 Thanks for the reply.  I did however buy this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0929F5NRJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details which is the DDR3L memory, still the same issue, it will just start, the fan will run at full speed, and the 1234 lights on the front will come on and nothing happens.  It will not even show anything on the screen.  There is no error code for that in the manual.  I have the Bios upgraded to the latest version. well.

If I put in a single 2GB, then it starts, the fan will come up, it will slow down and then the screen will show the bootup progress.

I can try the Crucial that you gave a link to.

A-Tech RAM is also a good brand with lifetime warranty.  Good way to save $ on older/somewhat older machines.  I've been using it for years.

To rule it out, try replacing the size 2032 CMOS battery if it's 5+ years old.  Bad batteries cause many problems from boot to throwing erroneous error codes.
