How to purchase Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card for Precision T5860?
Based on my google search and communication with Dell, this simple question seemed very hard to get an answer. When ordering this PC, I didn't choose the option of Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card. And now, I need it badly to access Thunderbolt-interface external hard drives.
Can I add a Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card for this PC? If so, how/where can I purchase it?

If you prefer to purchase from Dell directly, contact sale and verify if this new thunderbolt 4 AIC is compatible with your system, although it has different part number. I did not test but it should work.

While your system does not support retail thunderbolt 3 PCIe card, it will support Dell thunderbolt 4 PCIe AIC. Verify that your system board has a thunderbolt header connector ready and search for Dell thunderbolt AIC (add-in card) with Dell part number 07R4VG.
Important note: in Precision 5860, thunderbolt card must be installed on PCIe slot 3, which is connected to PCH. Other PCIe slots are direct connect to CPU and will cause system issue with thunderbolt card.

If you don't mind purchasing used product from online shopping, check this advertise for thunderbolt card. You can review this seller ads to confirm that is a compatible part for your thunderbolt needs.

@Chino de Oro Thanks for your kind explanation. I will follow your suggestion (7R4VG). The reason I searched Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card was because Dell T3 PCIe card (PN: 540-BCBL) was an option when purchasing T5860. But of course, I couldn't find that card at all.
