hardware reserved memory
Hi all. My t7960 has 256GB of memory (8x32 GB) that fills all the white memory slots. That works fine. I have added 2x new 32GB of the same type as the old one to DIMM 9 and 10 (which are black ones). However, the computer does not use them. Windows shows 320GB but only 255GB usable, and 65GB is hardware reserved. It is the same as BIOS. I have run pre-boot diagnostics, and that does not throw any errors. MSCONFIG boot maximum memory is also turned off. No luck so far. I have restarted a few times and removed and put back the modules. The same issue. The computer POSTs fine, just those modules seem unusable. Any idea?

The following table lists the memory configurations supported on your Precision 7960 Tower.
Precision 7960 memory matrix.
It seems that you have installed the memory using unsupported configurations from memory matrix table. Unsupported can sometimes worked but not all unsupported configurations will work.
