GPU upgrades for my new 7820

I just bought a Precision 7820 with dual CPU

The machine has a 950w power supply and I would like to upgrade the GPU to a 3090ti FE.  There are only two PCIe power cables.  an 8 to 6+2, which appears to have a couple of empty pin locations   AND an 8 to 6

Could someone give me some input on how to get to the 3 8pin plugs on the Nvidia RTX 3090ti FE?

The power supply board has two complete 8pin pcie jacks supplying these.

I am just not sure if there is some proprietary pin arrangement for the oem cables.

Thanks a lot everyone

If your Precision 7820 provides two 8-pin (6+2) cables to be used with graphics cards.  You can connect an optional splitter cable to each of those cables and it will turn each 8-pin to two of 8-pin connectors, for a total of four 8-pin connectors to be used for graphics cards.

Search for Dell part number 0G22MM.  See example picture below.

@Chino de Oro   currently, I have two individual cables, but one of them doesn't have the two additional pins.  Each cable plugs into it's own 8 pin plug

Then you may want a compatible 8-pin cable.  My system says Dell part number is 076VYK.

@Chino de Oro   the OG3W07 is a 10-pin to 8-pin.  Both of my supply jacks are 8pin

I just edited my post to correct Dell part number for the cable is 076VYK.  Verify the 8-pin to 8-pin cable you have to see if it has the same Dell part number.  Other condition is the system must be configured with CL class power supply (check your system configurations for power supply description).

Go to Dell support site and use your system service tag to verify your system configurations (do not post your private service tag info on this forum).

While I may assist with OEM components configurations and Dell part numbers, Dell graphics cards have different power connector requirements than from those of retailed cards.  you should be careful and are attempt at your own risk.

A link to the cable you found may help if you need my input.

@oddssodds Do you have any issues with cooling the GPU with this set-up? I'm thinking of doing something similar and could use some insight into how well this worked for you.
