Failure to get display output after trying to change GPU configuration on T7910
I have a T7910 with two CPUs and a 1300W power supply. Added in is a mega raid controller, a 2.5G ethernet card, and a Quadro M4000 GPU. The system was working fine until I tried to add in two more GPUs (both Tesla M10).
After adding the Tesla GPUs, the system did not output any video and my usb keyboard did not seem to receive any power. The system did not seem to boot at all either.
I tried changing the GPU layout around and then eventually removed the Tesla GPUs and the t7910 still didn't output any video. I checked the seating and put the system back into its last known working configuration and the system still won't boot, output video, or power the keyboard.
Does anyone have any insight into this or some more steps for troubleshooting?

I managed to get the original configuration working by clearing the bios. I am still not sure what caused the original issue.

@pokepoke111 Did you clear the bios by using the jumper method, or just removing the battery for a while? I'm having a similar issue but just taking the coin battery out for an hour didn't resolve so I'm thinking about trying the reset cmos jumper.

@spiderhole I used the jumper method. It was very straight forward and clear that it worked. After switching the jumpers, when you plug the computer in the system won't show any indication that it is receiving power. In my case, normally the fans rev when power is plugged in, but the fans don't rev when it is resetting the CMOS. After waiting for the given time, I removed power and set the jumpers back and the system booted into bios without issue.

@pokepoke111 Thanks for the reply! I will try that next since everything else so far has been a dead end. I'm also curious, did you have to wait a period on the first power up after resetting the cmos where the screen was blank or bios showed a memory configuring message? That was someone else's theory why after changing the cmos battery my system just sits with no display or power to keyboard but has a solid white power button.

@spiderhole Honestly, I don't remember that well how long it took, but I do remember that rebooted itself once while I assume it was checking the configuration. From what I have seen with my system, if it is not posting and just sitting with a black screen while powered on, that is an indication of some invalid configuration. I am still waiting on a serial cable to ship so that I can troubleshoot mine further.

@pokepoke111 I've ordered a Quadro K600 card off ebay to see if a more basic graphics card might due the trick. Stay tuned!
