End of Life for DELL Precision Workstation 5820

Hello, is there already an official end-of-life date for the Dell Precision Workstation 5820?
If not, how many more years at minimum will it continue to receive firmware/BIOS and driver updates?

Thank U in advance.

We do not provide end of life dates for our Client based systems. However, the rule of thumb for most systems is that a product would be supported up to 5 years from its final factory production. I'm not too certain on when the last 5820s were created, but given the initial release date of 2017, it'd be safe to assume that it may not be supported too much longer. Your best bet is to use Dell Command Update or SupportAssist to help automate driver updates.

The owners of 5820s are blessed.  The earliest system (Skylake) was released in 2017 and Dell kept selling the same model with update hardware (Cascadelake) still shipped in 2023.  Therefore, I think we will continue to receive support until at least 2028.

While many other Dell models prior to 2020 didn't receive BIOS update anymore, the 5820s latest BIOS 2.48.0 contains the new 2023 secure boot certificates was released.  In combine with Windows update key exchange, the old 5820s from 2017 are Windows 11 compatible and being updated with 2023 secure boot certificates.
