Dell Ultra-Speed Quad NVMe Adapter BSOD

Hi all,

My current system is a Precision T7920 and using a Dell Ultra-Speed Quad NVMe Adapter and has been working fine pre Windows 11 24H2.

When I first upgraded to 24H2 I received a BSOD and after further investigation I realised that the update changed the Storage Controller driver from the Standard NVM Express Controller driver to the Phison NVMe 1.2 Storport Miniport driver, I had to upgrade again and finally booted into windows then rolled back driver to the Standard NVM Express Controller driver and all is well until I updated to 25H2.

It looks like Microsoft wants to use the Phison NVMe 1.2 Storport Miniport driver since 23H2.

Is this happening because of the adapter or incompatibility with the chipset?

Some other posts in this forum are suggesting to change back to Legacy boot or would installing a different pcie M.2 adapter fix this? or should I install it in the x16 slot that doesn't use the chipset only the CPU.
