Dell T5820 + U.2 NVMe Boot Drive – vROC Key Required?
Hi there,
I recently acquired a Dell Precision T5820 and installed the Dell NVMe backplane.
My plan is to use an Intel P4510 1TB U.2 NVMe SSD as the primary boot drive for Windows 11. During the installation process, I manually loaded the vROC driver, and the U.2 drive shows up and can be formatted.
However, after formatting, the installer fails to proceed with the Windows installation.
Do I need a vROC key/dongle for this setup to work, or is there a specific BIOS setting I need to adjust to allow booting from the U.2 NVMe?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
no, you need the vROC only if you want to use the hardware raid feature.
You should use the RSTe driver to install windows
