Dell Precision 5820 compability issue with an RX 5700 XT (code 43 in device manager)

As the title says, after installing drivers for an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, they are clearly not installed with the device manager reporting an infamous code 43 error next to the gpu.

I have tried both Windows 10 and 11, used ddu multiple times, as well as different drivers. Nothing helped.

I reckon there are some bios settings that need to be changed, I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

Driver Clean Installation

  • Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove all AMD graphics drivers and software while offline to prevent Windows from reinstalling problematic drivers automatically.

  • After uninstalling, reboot and then install the latest compatible AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT drivers from AMD or Dell’s support page.

Therefore if you have the drivers downloaded and stored locally, using Aeroplane Mode, you can install from your own source.

@anne_droid

Thank you for commenting, I've used ddu to delete the old Quadro drivers, downloaded the latest ones, turned off the internet so Windows doesn't download its own drivers and installed them. It still didn't work. I've also tried Windows 11 but to no avail.

I have same 5820 with RTX 3080 Ti and everything working fine. Maybe RX 5700 is a problem.
