Dell Precision 3460 - Install additional SSD
Hi,
I have just purchased a Dell Precision 3460 SFF with a 256 GB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD, Class 35.
I already have a Crucial P3 Plus SSD 4TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 Internal SSD, Up to 4800MB/s, Laptop & Desktop (PC) Compatible, Solid State Drive - CT4000P3PSSD801 from a previous machine so I am hoping that this can be installed into one of the free slots in my Precision 3460.
Firstly, can anyone tell me if the SSD can be installed in the Precision as a secondary drive, if so are there any diagrams that go through the installation process.
Does it need to be installed in the next available SSD storage slot i.e. 2nd Slot
Do I need to use thermal pad with heatsink and/or the metal cooler cover.
Thanks in advance
