CPU upgrade on a dell precision tower t5810

I’m wanting to upgrade my cpu to a Xeon E5-2699k v4 I’m getting mixed info on how many cores it’s compatable with the manual says it’s only 18 cores by the cpu is 22 cores I saw a couple people run the same cpu with that motherboard but idk I’m new to this and would like some reassurance before I put it in.

Hello,

if you found benchmarks with that motherboard + the cpu you mention, it should be a safe bet ( remember to have the latest bios installed )

Edit : remember to avoid Engineering Samples for the cpu

@mazzinia_ can those benchmarks be false? becuase there so many tests with lower core cpus but only 2 or 3 with 22 core.

well, depends where you found them. Reliable ones are extracting the data from the computer, so there's no tampering
