Compatible motherboard for i9‑10920X in a Precision T5820, how to identify and where to buy in Europe?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to upgrade or repair a Dell Precision T5820 and I already have an Intel Core i9‑10920X CPU. I’m aware this processor requires an LGA 2066 socket and an X299 chipset, but I’m not entirely sure which specific Dell motherboard models support it inside the T5820 chassis.
A few questions I hope someone can help me with:
1. How can I identify the correct Dell part number(s) for motherboards that support the i9‑10920X in the T5820?
2. Are there different motherboard versions (e.g., Xeon-only vs Core-X compatible)?
3. Where can I find a compatible board in Europe (new or used)? I’ve checked eBay and some refurb shops, but availability seems limited.
Any advice or part numbers would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure I don’t accidentally buy a Xeon-only/C422 board that’s incompatible with my CPU.
Thanks in advance!

Dell is too proprietary for swapping MB's between cases. Best bet is build your own or buy a PC with the i9‑10920X in it already, or one that can take it without modifying.
