Best liquid Cooler for Dell Precision 5820

I'm considering switching to a liquid cooler. Has anyone here tried a liquid cooler on this model? If so, what cooler did you use, and how well did it fit and perform?

Here are some details about my setup:

  • Model: Dell Precision 5820
  • Current Cooling: Stock air cooler
  • Usage: High-performance tasks (e.g., 3D rendering, simulations)

I'm looking for recommendations on the best liquid cooler that fits well and provides excellent cooling performance. Any installation tips or insights on compatibility would also be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

LGA2066 socket has commercial liquid coolers such as those in Area 51 R2-R5.

If you are looking for a better cooling solution than the stock cooler, this might be a solution for you: ‎How to Fix Overheating and Limit Throttling Issues on DELL Precision 5820 and the Solution of Adding Rear Fans | DELL Technologies

A few people experienced fan error warnings after upgrading to the Noctua cooler when starting their computers, and they had to go into the BIOS to turn off RMT (Reliable Memory Technology). This might be because the stock fan has a higher speed than the Noctua fan, causing this issue. However, I did not encounter this problem.

I also looked into whether there was a way to upgrade to a water cooler. I found a few coolers that fit the LGA2066 socket; however, they seem difficult to mount on Dell motherboards even though they use the same LGA2066 socket. The Noctua NH-U9DX i4 is very easy to replace the stock cooler of the Dell 5820.

You are correct.  I was confused by Xeon cpu W 2000 family

Pc spec says Intel X299 or C422 chipset which should be LGA2066 socket

CPU is Xeon W 2000 (not W3, W5, or W7) such as W-2123 which uses 2066 socket.

I made a mistake when google Xeon W cpu listed

Xeon W3 2000 cpu which uses LGA4677 based on Intel. Ty for pointing out my error.

I’m also using a Dell Precision 5820 for high-performance tasks and have been thinking about upgrading to a liquid cooler for better thermal management. Did you face any challenges with the installation, particularly with the fit or mounting? Also, which brand or model are you leaning towards, and how does it compare to the stock air cooler in terms of performance?
