Adding Card Reader and Wi-Fi / Bluetooth 5.0 to Precision 3450 desktop

I need to buy a new computer to be Win 11 compliant and the Dell Precision 3450 has all the basic components I need except a card reader and a wifi/bluetooth 5.0. I also want to add another 8 GB of ram.

Can I install these myself, I'm OK working inside a computer, and can I order them from Dell?

I need to know the proper Dell product numbers for a card reader and a wífi/bluetooth adapter.  Also if there is a Dell ram which it would be best to use to match the installed ram or will any quality DDR4 ram work, Corsair for example.

Thanks so much for your help.

Check Dell site for 3450 options.  Careful if mixing brands of RAM.  I have 2 brands in my PC, but all other specs are the same, including voltage.  If voltages are mixed, Dell PC is likely to throw a RAM error code.  Crucial is a good brand with lifetime warranty and guaranteed to work in Dell's.  Compare price as to having Dell add RAM.  I found adding a Quadro P400 for another user cheaper to add on Dell site rather than Amazon and Walmart.com.

I don't know what you can get for a card reader.  That goes back to checking options.

Some of us typically suggest simply using WiFi BT dongle.  Found on Amazon and other sites.

By "desktop," I'm not sure if you meant tower or SFF, but it looks like the 3450 only comes in the SFF form factor.

Would using a USB card reader suit your purposes?  Many of those on Amazon for one.

Hi Brad,  Thanks for all the good links and suggestions.  It turns out that all of the features I want are available as "Options" in the U.S. and U.K., but not in Denmark.  There are no options offered here for the 3450 by Dell.dk.  So by going to the U.K. site, thanks for the link, and checking the options section I saw everything I needed.  I also learned that as the 3450 is a small form factor machine, you can only have one optical drive, so it is either the DVD or the card reader, not both.  It also got me into the need for 11th generation Intel CPU's to go with the latest SSD storage units, which is another consideration.  Thanks again.

You're welcome.  : )

If you didn't get to see it yet, pasting from DELL-Chris M's post:

Precision 3450 wireless =

6PP9J Antenna, SFF (Small Form Factor
917H1 External antenna kit
D4V21 DW1820, QCA61X4A WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) + Bluetooth, M.2
XVV0P Intel AX201NGW, WLAN, WiFi 6

They all show as, "For sale = No". So no idea where you could buy them.
