Question

Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir si il est possible de brancher une rtx 3050 8gb sur un T5820 avec une alimentation 425w.

Je n'arrive pas à savoir si l'alimentation fournit bien un connecteur 6 pin et si la carte prend le 6 pin.

Si oui, quel type de cable d'alimentation faut-il ?

Unfortunately, you can not run RTX 3050 on Precision 5820 with 425w power supply as it would require an 8-pin graphics cable. It was designed for slot powered graphics cards only.

A 950w PSU can be had for a bit over twenty USD. The 8-pin graphics cable is 076VYK.

If your system have VGA power cables, you may have 950w power supply.

Sur la carte de distribution d'alimentation, il y a 2 ports d'alimentation (Power VGA) (8 broches).

A quoi ils servent ? pourquoi on ne pourrais pas brancher une carte graphique dessus et laisser l'alimentation d'origine 425w ?

Each of the VGA power connector can provide up to 300w of power. They are used with 950w power supply and provided up to 600w total power for graphics card.

Obviously, it can not be used with a 425w PSU.

Vous voulez dire que avec l'alimentation 425w? ces connecteurs d'alimentation VGA ne sont pas alimentés ?

Ils ne pourraient pas alimenter une RTX 4060 qui consomment 115w ? Même si je comprends que c'est un peu juste avec 425w en tout.

Sinon, la meilleure solution : remplacer l'alimentation 425w par la 950w et trouver le cable 076VYK pour brancher une carte graphique comme par exemple RTX 4060 ? Cela fonctionnerait ?

Whether the RTX 3050 requires an 8-pin connector or not depends on the exact model.  I was recently corrected by redxps630 about an RTX 3050 not requiring the extra connector.

The answers and replies were based on OP questions of 6-pin requirements from an RTX 3050 8GB.  If budget was not an issue, I could suggest a top performance card such as RTX A2000, a slot powered card.  The problem would be then solved.

No biggie.  Upgrading power supply on the 5820 is a feasible option.  A 950w PSU can run below $20 USD with free shipping, free return on big auction site.
