UPGRADE ML3 TO 2 DRIVES

I REQUEST HELP TO IDENTIFY HOW TO CONNECT AN ML3 WITH 2 SAS DRIVES TO A SINGLE DELL SERVER. CURRENTLY ON THE DELL SERVER THERE IS ALREADY A TWO-PORT SAS CARD. IS AN ADDITIONAL SAS HBA REQUIRED ON THE SERVER TO CONNECT THE SECOND DRIVE?

An additional SAS HBA ist NOT REQUIRED.  Just Connect the new drive to the 2nd. port of the HBA.

Note: With 2 drives within the tape library you have 3 options:

  1. Use one Library with 2 drives connected to a single server
  2. Use the partition feature to create two Libraries with a single drvive each connected both to one server. (Can be usefull because of licensing(depends on Backup software) or when you would like to separate things)
  3. Use the partition feature to create two Libraries with a single drive each connected to different servers.

Joerg

Thanks Ernan. the information manuals are very generic. Missing documentation such as a connection topology diagram, which would be very useful
