Unable to see Seagate drives on PowerVault MD1200

I have a Dell Precision 7920 running WS2016 that is going to a Powervault MD1200 connected with a LSI SAS 3000 series adapter. I have Seagate ST33000650SS SCSI disks that are installed but won't show in disk management. They show in device manager but with a warning icon like they need drivers or firmare updated. I try to install the correct firmware/drivers from Dell but get a 'the operation was aborted because retrieving the logical drives status failed' error. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hello,

The 7920 isn't supported here, and I don't believe supports external facing controllers (I don't support workstation units, I may be incorrect). This may be part of the problem. If you'd like to share the Dell part numbers of the disks, I can check to confirm that the storage enclosure supports the disks. Questions about the 7920 would need to be asked on the Precision workstation board, though.

Ok great, but the disks are the Seagate ones I listed above. What other information do you need?

Hello defaultuser100,

As per your product details, we see that you are a Federal customer. Unfortunately, due to Federal contractual requirements Social team will be unable to assist you. Please contact the Federal Support team on 1-800-822-8965.

One tip I can give you, for bangs in the Device Manager - Make sure your Chipset driver is up to date.

Note WS2016 is not supported on Precision 7920 Tower
